Specialist Non-Medical Help for Apprentices

Experienced study skills tutors and mentors supporting apprentices with specific barriers to learning.

We coordinate specialist Non-Medical Help for apprentices who need additional support to engage with learning, stay on track and progress through their apprenticeship.

Support can include specialist study skills support, specialist mentoring and tailored one-to-one support depending on the apprentice’s needs.

Specialist study skills support can help with organisation, planning, time management, written work, reading, note-taking, memory, task management and independent learning.

Specialist mentoring can support apprentices experiencing barriers linked to anxiety, confidence, mental health difficulties, autism, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, motivation, emotional regulation or engagement.

We work with trusted providers whose tutors, mentors and learning coaches understand the specific barriers faced by those with additional learning needs.

Where support is delivered through specialist Non-Medical Help roles, we work with providers who are responsible for ensuring their tutors and mentors are appropriately experienced, qualified and, where applicable, aligned to the Department for Education / Student Loans Company mandatory qualification requirements for relevant NMH roles.

Where training providers already deliver some mentoring, study skills or learner support in-house, we can complement this with additional specialist support or capacity.
