About Access Support Apprentices

Access Support Apprentices is part of Access Support Group, a UK education support organisation bringing together specialist support delivery, practical technology and user-friendly systems for learners with additional needs.

We support training providers working with apprentices who may need additional learning support, reasonable adjustments, specialist mentoring, study skills support, Assistive Technology, specialist taxis or clearer evidence of support delivered.

Our service has been developed from direct experience in the disability support sector, including Non-Medical Help provision, needs assessment, Assistive Technology, support coordination and digital record keeping.

Our Background and Experience

Access Support Apprentices has been developed from years of experience supporting learners with disabilities, neurodivergent needs, mental health difficulties and specific barriers to learning.

Through our wider group and specialist support delivery partners, we bring together experience across higher education, Disabled Students’ Allowance support, Apprentice support, Non-Medical Help delivery, screening, diagnostic assessment, needs assessment, workplace assessment, Assistive Technology, Assistive Technology training, learner support coordination and support administration.

Our sister company, Access Your Ability, was founded in 2014 and has supported thousands of students through specialist mentoring and study skills support, as well as having experience supporting apprentices. This experience has shaped our understanding of what good support looks like: it must be personal, practical, well matched to the learner and delivered by people who understand the barriers learners face.

We have also developed Touch Point, a digital system designed from real provider experience to manage support bookings, session records, timesheets, learner sign-off, invoicing and evidence. This gives us a practical understanding of both sides of support delivery: the learner experience and the provider’s need for clear records, efficient administration and audit-ready evidence.

We are proud to be working with specialist support delivery partners, including Access2Learn, Access Your Ability and Pro-AT Group, to provide a comprehensive range of support services for apprentices and training providers.

Together, we offer a joined-up, holistic support package for training providers across the UK. By working together, we give training providers one coordinated route to high-quality support, reducing the need to manage multiple separate suppliers and helping apprentices receive a more consistent and connected experience.

Our Specialist Support Delivery Partners

Access2Learn helps neurodivergent and disabled learners get the support they need to do well in education and work. They specialise in screening, diagnostic and needs assessments, Assistive Technology training and one-to-one learning coaches.

Within the apprenticeship model, Access2Learn can support the early identification of additional needs and help identify the support each apprentice may need as they move through their programme. Their work helps training providers understand needs from the start, rather than waiting until difficulties have already appeared.

Where screening suggests further support may be helpful, Access2Learn can provide diagnostic assessments and detailed needs assessments, where appropriate. This results in clear recommendations that the apprentice and training provider can act on.

Access2Learn also provides Assistive Technology training and one-to-one learning coaching. This helps apprentices use practical tools to support their learning journey, while learning coaches with specialist skills and a holistic understanding of support needs help them reflect on their progress, adapt their approach and develop strategies that help them grow and flourish during their apprenticeship.

Access Your Ability is a specialist Non-Medical Help provider with extensive experience supporting students and learners with disabilities, neurodivergent needs, mental health difficulties and specific barriers to learning. Their team is qualified and specialises in ASC, ADHD, SpLD, mental health and visual impairment support.

They are highly skilled at helping learners understand their barriers, develop practical strategies, build confidence and manage the demands of study, training and work more effectively. This experience is valuable within apprenticeship support, where learners often need to balance workplace expectations, off-the-job training, assessments, deadlines and personal wellbeing.

As part of our wider support offer, Access Your Ability strengthens the specialist human support element of the service, ensuring apprentices can access experienced mentors and study skills professionals who understand the impact of disability, neurodivergence, mental health and learning barriers.

Their approach is personal, practical and learner-centred, supporting our shared aim of delivering support that is meaningful, well matched and focused on real outcomes.

Pro-AT Group is a UK-based assistive technology company that develops specialist products and provides training and support to help learners work more independently. Its products include Pro-Study, Lernabl and Study Agent, with specialist human support delivered through its sister company, STAT Northern.

Within this partnership, Pro-Study helps apprentices capture, organise and retrieve learning materials and workplace evidence; Lernabl helps them reinforce and retain knowledge using a range of study methods; and Study Agent provides personalised, step-by-step guidance at the point of need.

These tools can support apprentices with organisation, planning, working memory, time management, focus, comprehension and managing tasks, assignments and deadlines. However, effective assistive technology support involves more than simply providing software. The technology must be matched to the apprentice’s individual needs and combined with appropriate training, strategies and ongoing guidance.

By working with Pro-AT Group, Access Support Apprentices can offer training providers access to practical technology solutions alongside specialist assessment, mentoring, study skills support and evidence management.

This helps create a more complete package of support, where human support, technology and training work together rather than being delivered as separate, disconnected services.
